What it’s like diving beneath Marina Del Rey's giant guest
When you're diving beneath a yacht nearly the length of a football field, things start feeling a bit different. Recently, the Scout Dive Service team had the exciting opportunity to tackle one of the largest superyachts ever to visit Marina Del Rey: the magnificent 282-foot Aquila.
With an impressive 46-foot beam, sliding under Aquila felt a bit like cave diving—just swap the stalactites for marine growth and barnacles! Navigating beneath her massive hull required careful coordination, but our skilled team of divers rose to the occasion.
Aquila spent the winter calling Marina Del Rey home, and after months dockside, she needed some Scout Dive TLC before heading back out to sea. Over two action-packed days, our team meticulously cleaned and restored her underwater surfaces to pristine condition, ensuring Aquila would glide smoothly through the water on her next passage.
Huge thanks to our dedicated team for their hard work, and to MY Aquila for choosing Scout Dive Service. If your yacht (super or otherwise!) needs some underwater care, you know who to call—we love a good challenge!
